Paris in Motion part I

I recently visited Paris, and I was a little overwhelmed at the amount of people with cameras and the amount of images that exist of all the landmarks I was visiting, so I decided to try something new! Very exciting. I made this gifs out of multiple image exposures. There are about 12 gifs, but I’m going to put them up in two sections. Of course, as with anything, the gifs get better as the days went by. Click the thumbnails to see the moving images, and stay tuned for more!

Bushwick City Farm

I’m very excited to announce that Equilibrio, a weekly supplement to Reforma in Mexico that focuses on environment and social responsibility, will be publishing an article that I actually WROTE! oh yeah and some photographs too. It only took me two months to write the actual article but hey, who’s counting? Bushwick City Farm is a great independently run program that provides free food, education, and support to the local community. Also they singlehandedly built a functioning farm in the middle of Broadway in Bushwick, no small feat. They are raising money to start a new farm down the street, so they can provide more services and food. Please help them out! They’ve almost reached their goal: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1946953896/urban-free-farm-producing-free-food-in-brooklyn

I ♥ NY

What a perfect time to put up a I ♥ NY post! Now that NY has proven to be so wonderfully progressive and pioneering on the “lets be better humans” front. I recently shot a travel piece for a magazine in Canada, and found that in NYC, silhouettes are a plenty.

At Lincoln Center:

At the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens:

At the Museum of Natural History:

Liberty Island:

Did I mention that I shot close to 30 locations in 3 days? It was nuts.

Ballet Class

I’ve been taking ballet in NYC for about six years now, so I was very excited when I got the opportunity to photograph a class as an assignment… It was also a nice coincidence that the teacher for this class is also teaching me to dance on (en) pointe at another studio. This is Dawn Hillen’s advanced beginner ballet class at Broadway Dance Center. Saturdays at 12pm.
