On my recent trip to Mexico I was commissioned to take photographs of two very different monuments, one brand new one, one old one. The older one was the recently rehabilitated Monumento a la Revolución Mexicana, which was up until recently all but abandoned and in disrepair. The surrounding areas were dangerous and it was the site of regular protests so it was usually closed off to the public, but it has now turned into a great tourist destination.
